Changing the paradigm from business-centric to personal websites Hello everyone, This issue I want to expand on the concept of a personal website, what that means to individuals, solopreneurs, side hustlers and small local businesses that need to make an impression with their customer base. At the present time, websites are pretty much the exclusive property of larger businesses that have the deep pockets to be able to hire the specialists who code, program and develop the intricate combinations of features and visual graphics that catch the eye of the consumer. But as time goes by, these tricks and coding efforts are becoming less and less effective, not only because the public has seen them all before, but because the actual display platform is changing faster than big business can control. It is a well established fact that the device of choice for the general public is the personal phone. It has become so much more powerful and able to do almost everything that a full featured desktop station can do, but put it into a small screen. The majority of web browsing is now happening on the screen of the phone, and the dollar purchasing is growing art a rapid rate. The problem for the traditional business website is to smash all those eye-catching graphic and active bells and whistles into the small screen of the smartphone and have any impact at all. The standard website developer simply has a lot of trouble doing it. Mobile First technology was legitimized in 2015 by Google as they recognized the growing trend of switching most of the internet activity and browser searches from the desktop and laptop to the mobile phone as a matter of convenience for the general user. That trend has exploded and is becoming much more prevalent in 2025. There is a lag in the repones of businesses to the importance of phone screen websites and it leaves a serious hole in the ability for businesses to effectively talk to their customers. I many be quite wrong, but as far as I see the trend to the phone centric website, there is a distinct possibility that the a new style of website will begin to take over the internet. As people become more and more comfortable with using their phone and the honeymoon shakes down into a comfortable domestic existence with the user-phone experience, the actual style of website will also change. At present the website development is one way. A website is created and developed for a customer and that service is maintained by monthly fee to allow the owner of the site to have changes made when requested. For each change there is lag time and further expense in the traditional model that makes the web developer the central part of the equation. Shifting the Paradigm to Personal Websites I suggest a new paradigm for the owner of the website, one where the actual creation, maintenance and editing is done by the owner/webmaster on their own with no intermediary steps requiring the expertise of the developer/coder. This is a distinct possibility because most of the bells and whistles the modern day developer is creating are absolutely useless for the mobile screen. It is simply too small and the user often gets confused with a heavy reliance of complicated graphics and animations. The idea, now, is to deliver the content of the website faster and more visually appealing in as minimalistic way as possible. This really can't be done if you are coding the site for the desktop first and then hoping that whatever algorithm the website platform has can translate that work onto the minimalist dimensions of the mobile screen. MobileFirst-Personal Websites is dedicated to creating the mobile phone screen first, and primarily. You don't create for a desktop resolution, you create for the mobile screen requirements while you can simultaneously deal with the look and feel of the desktop and laptop afterwards. Unlike traditional editors where the desktop is king and the results of the phone output are out of your control, our Mobile First platform controls each screen independently. You can minutely manage the desktop and laptop screens with about the same control as traditional editors, but before that, you create and control the full look and feel of the phone screen. The traditional website editor relies heavily on control of the entire site through coding and design elements that can move throughout the website, there is little distinction between the delivery and the sections that are created. Mobile first abandoned that inefficient method of website editing and moved to a strictly page by page structure. Each page of the site that is created is its own independent and self contained html document, allowing much faster loading and display than a site which has to refer to functions and code calls that are sometimes important, but not always for the screen required. By segmenting the site into discrete pages the site loads what is required and leaves all the rest waiting to be called only when it is required. The second major change is that the traditional sites require a lot of bolted on add-ons and plug-ins that are each coded separately, often by a wide variety of sources with no coherence or consistency in implementation. Each piece bolted on is a separate entity of its own, with various inherent weaknesses and strengths, but no guarantee of ongoing compatibility as the underlying platform is improved, upgraded and tweaked. There are endless nightmare stories of websites that simply stop working because the bits and pieces of that particular independent collection of parts becomes incompatible with each other. The sites require constant oversight of professional web developers to keep all the parts talking to each other in a friendly manner. With many traditional sites, this is a full time job. Mobile First Websites eliminated that problem right from the start. The platform is a single. consistent foundation where the only building blocks are authorized and carefully crafted widgets that work with each other always, from the very beginning. Upgrading any platform or widget improvements is transparent. It requires no effort on the part of the webmaster. There is the ability to add third party functions to the website using the <code/script> widget, but by its very definition the actual functionality is the responsibility of the external source to keep it up and running. This initial philosophy to create the site page by page, in a top to bottom execution order with the broad base of compatible widgets included in the user interface makes all the difference in the world. By employing easy to understand widgets into the platform, with the information input in a form filled structure, there is no coding required for even a technically challenged induvidual to design and implement a website and become its sole webmaster, a truly personal site. Below we will talk how the inclusion of the adaptive editor into the mix effectively makes the site a completely different foundation and platform from traditional websites, one that anyone, and I mean ANYONE implement and afford. It is time to bring the website home to the general public and allow the individual to be able to express themselves in a way that the original inventors of the internet actually intended. DO "business" if you wish, pursue individual goals if you like, but MobileFirst-Personal Websites is here to provide the economical platform for individuals to begin to stake their claim to internet territory right alongside the business interests who have been controlling it for much too long. Sincerely,
Steve Pond

Why is the Adaptive Editor so Vital? |
Once you escape from the present philosophical website building strategies of the traditional busness editors, you will find that the adaptive editor is one of the most radical changes to the way websites will be built and maintained in the very near future. Presently, a traditional web developer is chained to their desk since the editor must be operated using as large a screen as possible to be able to see the website as it is created and changed over time. For large businesses who are relying on the way the desktop site looks on both a large monitor and the laptop as well, it is a relief to know the developer is not frolicking in the ocean as he works. The main focucs should be on the business of developing their site. This has advantages for business, but there is also a large disadvantage as well, the developer must be at his desk to do any changes, or at least in front of a screen that is large enough to show the full editor. The advent of the adaptive editor is a major step in the way websites can be deveoped in the future since it will adapt to the size of the browser it is being used on. For Mobile first sites this not a problem at all. The editor adapts to the size of the site display and suddenly becomes quite portable. It is quite possible that the developer could be frolicking on the beach and doing the editing simultaneously since the editor is easy enough to use it can be used on the same phone as the site is displayed. |
