I have never been a developer, all I wanted to do was to get my message onto the digital highway.  I worked hard all my life to promote the health and happiness of tropical fish and the amazing benefits they provide to the life of people lucky enough to have them.

Business did, and they could throw endless streams of cash at the internet to make even more money.  The little guy, the personal with a hobby or idea they wanted to share got pushed out.

I was lucky enough that I could piggyback my hobby on some of that corporate hosting and continued to offer my expertise to the aquarists of the world, but always looked for a way to bring the digital highway back within the reach of the little guy, the solopreneur and the hardworking individuals of the world who could truly benefit form a personal access to the web without the high cost.

Getting Started with a Mobile-First Personal Website

Digital Business Card

Many professions currently use paper business cards to connect with new acquaintances and prospective clients.  This time tested networking method has never been overly efficient. How many of the cards you have offered have actually had a chance to do their job - a quick introduction to you and your services?  Most are simply discarded without a second thought. 

Why consider a Digital Business Card as your connection tool?

Digital business Cards (DBC) are a way to make more efficient contact with anyone.  There have been a number of different types of DBC, using a variety of techniques.  Many are actually a card, often like a credit card in size and shape that can transfer contact information from a touch or pass over the receiving device.  None he been particularly effective since it takes matching technology to be able to "handshake" across the different media.

Using the DBC on a client's phone

1. Open your DBC on your phone
2. Scroll down the page until the QR code ios displayed
3. Use prospect's phone camera to capture the QR code
4. Activate the code - Click on displayed location hotspot  - usually the website os displayed in a colored box.  The QR code is normally bracketed at four comers with yellow highlight angles
5. Your DBC should show on the prospect's phone
6. Look at bottom of display for options - scroll down to "Add to Home Page" and select to add your site to the prospect's screen digital real estate.
7. Add your contact details to the phone's contact list by scrolling to bottom and click or finger press the vCard link
8. Your details have been added to the prospect's phone in both contact list and on their home pages as an icon.

Why did the website break up with the mobile phone?

Because it couldn't handle the commitment to being mobile first!

Essenrtially the concept of responsive design means that the website that you, or your deveoper creates is forced into desings that are more easily consimed by themobile uswer.  Still, in the long run, the website is just a big desktop page forced to fit into a very small screen.  You mainly work on the full size site and the tecnology behind iot works to creatre an endproduict that will look Ok on the transition to the smaller screen

Since the actual website being devceloped is always full size, the editor had no reason to employ a developmental environment that is not full size screen as well.
